A hapless rocker complicates his love life when he housesits for his wealthy older brother and attends the annual law society gala dinner pretending to be him.

SYNOPSIS

Twenty-seven-year-old freeloader, CARL is kicked out of his girlfriend KAT's house just as his brother PATRICK, a well-off lawyer, goes on a trip to France and asks him to housesit his fancy apartment and look after his miniature poodle JERRY.

Carl settles in quickly, although he doesn't immediately hit it off with Jerry. 

Bored, he comes across his brother's invitation to a gala event for lawyers and attends wearing his brother's expensive suit. Drinking beer and enjoying the band, he attracts the attention of REBECCA, a lawyer with another firm, and they find themselves in his brother's apartment shortly after.

With Carl continuing to pose as Patrick, his relationship with Rebecca develops until she introduces him to her friends, and he is faced with their pretentiousness. Unable to keep his opinion to himself, he tells her what he thinks of them, and the two argue. 

Just as Carl believes his relationship with Rebecca is over, his ex-girlfriend Kat calls him, and the two reconnect. However, Rebecca comes to his brother's apartment a few nights later, and they also reconcile, leaving him with two possessive and slightly crazy girlfriends and two identities.

ANGIE, a member of Carl's struggling band (with the unfortunate band name 'Alien Probe'), advises him to tell both the girls the truth after Carl dodges a bullet when the two women accidentally meet at one of the band's gigs. Carl decides to do the right thing and comes clean, getting his nose broken by Rebecca and his rear end stabbed by Kat.

Crestfallen, he gets closer to Angie. Meanwhile, KENNY and RICKY, their number one fans, act as their band's agents. Kenny's uncle turns out to be a manager at SONY, and he attends one of their gigs, inviting them to record in his studio. At the same time, Carl and Angie realize they are meant for one another, and their band and relationship head towards a brighter future.
